Please note: this event is part of a US-based fundraiser.

All ticket sales will benefit Women of Color Unite, a 501(c)(3) non-profit located in Los Angeles, who fight for the fair access, fair pay and fair treatment of Women of Color in the entertainment industry in the United States.

This workshop is an introduction to the concepts taught during the full Writing Character-Driven Tension workshop.

Every character wants something and lies to themselves about why. In this hour you’ll pin this down for your character: the want, the lie, and the one situation that forces the lie into the open. Bring a character who hasn’t clicked yet, or who feels flat on the page.

Writers of all genres and formats welcome!

This is a one-hour workshop that includes one exercise.
