Every story runs on people: the characters on the page and the people you need to convince to make it. My work sits where those two meet. I have degrees in psychology and criminology, edited a film magazine for six years, and worked in the US for close to ten years before settling back in Rotterdam, where I frequently teach workshops on character development.
At Women of Color Unite (WOCU), a Los Angeles-based non-profit focused on Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, I designed a culture audit for entertainment companies and was involved in designing intersectional programs tailored to improve DEI at companies and on set. That work greatly shapes how I read stories.

Script consulting: character & psychology
Your characters feel flat. They do what the plot needs, but you can’t say why. Or, readers told you “I didn’t believe that.” A choice, a betrayal or a breakdown lands as convenient rather than earned.
Your plot is only as strong as the psychology underneath it, so let's take it apart and figure out what each character wants, what they're hiding, and where their arc and your plot are pulling them in different directions.
- Character read: up to two characters of your choice.
- Full read: every principal character and how structure and tone serve them, plus a 60-minute call.
- Crime & justice add-on: whether offenders, victims and institutions ring true. This is not a legal procedure check, I'm not a lawyer.

Sensitivity reading
A trained read for stereotyping, framing and perspective: whose eyes the story looks through, what drives its characters beyond their ethnicity or intersection, and where it may land differently than you intend. I read from training and my own lived experience, but if your story needs a sensitivity reader who has a different lived experience than I do, I'll tell you.

Why work with me rather than an AI?
You can get notes from an AI in thirty seconds. They’ll be tidy and plausible, and built from the average of everything it has read, and that average leans toward the voices that have always dominated what gets published: Western, white, male. I read your script as someone who has been practicing the craft over 15 years, has actually made films and navigates the industry from the inside. I have a knack for picking out tired tropes, spotting your characters' lies, and linking their emotional arc to your plot.
Lastly, unlike AI, emotions are actually a lived experience for me, like they are for you. And relaying emotions to other humans is the business we're in. AI can support our work, but will never truly know what it's like to feel.
